Hat Tip to Sen Steve King for “Employment Prevention Agency”.  I’ll be stealing his comment as it should be made viral.

“Much of the blame for the high rate of unemployment lies with the conduct of the Environmental Protection Agency, or, as King termed it, the ‘Employment Prevention Agency.’ ”  Rep. “He pointed to the growing weight of regulations as forcing costs higher and requiring him to spend more on compliance than on the construction-related work the company did.”

This is a very shocking comment if it’s true. I hope Gary Harmon will follow up on this statement and provide some details on the source of the regulatory costs and why they were so much higher than (apparently) the company’s actual business.

However, I suspect it’s political rhetoric. If the business was so badly constrained, how did it find a buyer?
