Happiness is having a good neck pillow
I'd like to, in no particular order, introduce you to my new best friends.
My neck pillow. Originally purchased for a loooong Amtrak ride to visit family in the Midwest, this pillow has morphed into a regular companion at night.
I can't sleep on my stomach or back for safety reasons and sometimes I get tired of sleeping on my side. This pillow allows me to sit upright against a stack of pillows to read, watch TV or sleep without hurting my neck.
I may have laughed at people who used these things before. I'm sorry. This thing is amazing.
My stretchy pants.
These are a summer blessing. I hit the Goodwill jackpot ($2) with the black pair and got the gray pants with the super cute waistline at Motherhood Maternity in Mesa Mall.
I looked for months for other used, cropped, cotton, stretchy pants with no success so I had to buy new. MAMA NEEDED CROPPED LOUNGE PANTS WITH ELASTIC WAISTS, OK!?!
I put these on when I get home from work and live in them All. Weekend. Long.
(I bought two of the same gray pants — the second was 50% off — so I could wash one but always have another ready. This is the type of planning and organization that will make me a great mother, right?)
I checked it out at the library, but I'm making mental notes, taking physical notes and will request it again in like a month — even though the thought of wearing flared jeans like the cover model makes me embarassed about what's coming...
My maternity leggings with that stretchy panel that goes over a belly or folds under it.
I bought these in black and brown at Motherhood Maternity because I couldn't find them used. They are long so I can scrunch them up in summer and pull them down in winter.
I never in a million years thought I would wear pants like this. Look at them and look at me in them. It's the opposite of stylish.
However, when I pull that panel up and over my belly and live my life, it makes everything a little better. And that's what friends are for.
