Are we exploiting our children?
And the debate continues …
Super mommy blogger, Heather Armstrong from Salt Lake City, talks about her Web site, dooce.com, on the Today Show:
What exactly is Kathie Lee’s point (or should I ask what is the point of Kathie Lee)?

What’s Kathy Lee doing on the Today show anyway? Well, at least she didn’t sing.

Ugh. Kathie Lee is a horrible co-host for Hoda Kotbe. I don’t think mommy blogs exploit children…it’s just a way for people to share what’s happening in their lives and to realize they aren’t the only ones that deal with particular issues or whatever. I think it’s great and even though I don’t have kids, I LOVE reading the Haute Mamas Blog every day!

she really should stick to keeping her doddering old husband from extra-marital activities instead of putting her nose into someone else’s business. thus, this little blurb only reinforces my belief that humanity is better off when kathie lee is neither seen nor heard.
keep up the great work, ladies!

So, Dooce finally said something about her experience on the Today show … finally. I love Dooce but she frustrates the heck out of me when she gets the opportunity to do something so cool and then posts about what color her dog’s latest BM was. I just want to reach through the computer and say “Heather, stay on task woman!”
She finally spills some of the behind the scenes to this segment Robin posted and clears up (sort of) a little of the confusion behind Kathy Lee’s strange behavior. Make sure you check it out.
I hand it to Dooce for looking so calm in the make-up chair, acting like appearances on the Today show are no big deal. As I was just telling Robin, I’d be so excited the make-up artist would have to slap me upside the head with a hairbrush just like my mom used to do. I’ll bet Dooce had some tiny little liquor bottles stashed in her purse just to calm her nerves.
I guess I could have left this comment to Dooce herself but it would have gotten lost in her 659 (!!!!) comments. I’m sure she won’t be clicking over here to the Haute Mamas, but if she ever does, let this be her thank you for sticking up for mommy bloggers everywhere!
