Richardson declines to discuss VP negotiations with Obama camp

In case you missed the news earlier this week, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson — a possible Democratic vice presidential candidate — was mum this week on whether he has spoken with Barack Obama about joining the top of the ticket, according to The Trail blog.
“I’m not commenting on that,” Richardson told the blog. “I don’t talk about my contacts with the Obama campaign on that issue.”
He later added: “I’m not lobbying for anything. But obviously, I would do anything I could for him.”
Though Richardson’s fans probably would like to hear if he is on Obama’s shortlist, the ambiguity certainly must sound better than learning he is not on the list at all.
