McInnis: Both candidates were frustrating on water votes
In case you missed it, the campaign team of Democratic Senate candidate Mark Udall attacked his Republican opponent, Bob Schaffer, using a 2004 comment from former Congressman Scott McInnis, R-Colo.
However, as McInnis explained to Political Notebook, neither candidate has a sterling record on Western Slope water issues. Indeed, McInnis reaffirmed his distaste for Schaffer’s vote on the Great Sand Dunes National Park bill. He also renewed his aversion for a “present” vote Udall cast on the Animas-La Plata water project bill.
