SD8 pol loans himself $10,000

Democratic Senate District 8 candidate Ken Brenner has given his campaign a shot in the arm in the form of a $10,000 loan, accord to his August campaign finance report.

Brenner’s loan brings his campaign’s August haul to $12,194: a respectable amount but nowhere near the $19,995 his opponent, state Rep. Al White, R-Hayden, raised solely through donations.
Though, White seems to be outpacing his electoral opponent, ending the month with $68,919 in the bank, compared to Brenner’s $31,211, make no mistake about it: This race still is competitive. Both candidates have enough cash to hit the airwaves in Senate District 8, which includes Glenwood Springs and Rifle.
