Salazar: Bailout bill is like ‘putting a Band-Aid on a cancer’

JSalazarCarwileatClub20inHalwayArchivePic.jpg

Congressman John Salazar, D-Colo, again voted against a proposed $700 billion bailout plan for the United State’s faltering financial markets. Political Notebook snagged the congressman after he cast his vote today. Here’s what he had to say:

Salazar belongs to the party of, Barney Frank,Chris Dodd and Chuck Schumer. All of these people brought the bailout upon the people of the United States. Salazar is no less to blame than the above named. The state of Colorado needs to rid itself of all DEMOCRATS!

Salazar voted, to save himself from being voted out of office, not because he cares about the State of Colorado.

Wake up Colorado, quit letting the Democrats ruin your great State.

What total revisionist BS. We have laws and regulations only because it’s a recognition of human nature that some will take advantage of others for their own benefit without restaints and the prospect of punishment if those restraints are violated. The Republican objective of minimal restraints and relying on the good faith of the financial system to operate with self-imposed restraint and good judgement has been an abject failure. Blaming the direction we have been going over the last thirty years with the help of Republican presidents and congresses on Democrats is sheer nonsense. Regardless of individual Democratic votes for whatever reasons from time to time, the overall Republican strategy of minimal regulations for all things has been successfully enacted. Claiming otherwise is either foolish or disingenuous.
