Wolf backs raising gasoline tax, according to questionnaire
Republican congressional candidate Wayne Wolf has taken Project Vote Smart’s political courage test, according to the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. Check it out for yourself, but here are some highlights:
Wolf told the organization he supports slightly increasing federal gasoline taxes while “greatly” reducing inheritance taxes and slightly decreasing capital gains taxes.
(Wolf explained on the questionnaire: “I will pursue an energy policy that will greatly reduce gasoline prices and when that happens I would accept a small increase in the Highway Users Trust Fund that would stricly go toward highway improvements. I will work to stop the use of HUTF funds for non-transportation expenditures. More money needs to flow from the federal government to states and local governments for highway improvements.”)
The outgoing Delta County commissioner said he supports slightly decreasing both defense and homeland security funding while increasing state law enforcement and scientific research funding.
He said he supports “greatly” decreasing the amount of restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns.
Congressman John Salazar, D-Colo., did not fill out the questionnaire.
