Anti-Buescher mailers appear

At long last, a conservative 527 political committee has finally reared its head in the House District 55 race roughly three weeks out from Election Day.
Unaffiliated voters were greeted at their mailboxes over the weekend with a flier bashing state Rep. Bernie Buescher, D-Grand Junction, for his support of Gov. Bill Ritter’s mill levy freeze. The organization behind the mass mailer, Coloradans for Change, is essentially a front group for the House and Senate Republicans’ political committees, the Colorado Leadership Fund in the House Republicans’ case.
Yet another mailer from Colorado Values also greeted the same voters at their mailboxes this weekend.
Confirming that this race is effectively a referendum on Buescher, neither of the mailers mentions his opponent.
Here excerpts from the two mailers:

In an interview this morning, Buescher derided the Coloradans for Change mailer as patently false in numerous regards: “The inaccuracies in the piece are shocking. They apparently feel that the First Amendment gives them the right to say anything even if it’s not accurate.”
