GOP lawmaker takes swing at outgoing Republican VP

Taking shots at Vice President Dick Cheney might seem more like a page out of a liberal strategy book, but state Rep. Cory Gardner, R-Yuma, did just that in a statement sent out to the press today.
Here’s what Gardner said: “In the re-districting decision, the Court actually defined itself as a legislating body, reminiscent of Vice President Dick Cheney’s assertion that the Executive role of the Vice President is also part of the Legislative.
“‘Dick Cheney can’t be a Senator and the Court isn’t supposed to legislate,’ said Gardner. ‘We look forward to an explanation from the Chief Justice and her answers to our concerns.’”
Gardner’s comments accompanied a letter accusing the Colorado Supreme Court of partisanship in a handful of recent decisions.
