‘Son of Make My Day’ renascent

DENVER — Worried about intruders in your place of work?
Well, for the fourth time in as many years, state Rep. Cory Gardner, R-Yuma, has reintroduced — with the help of Sen. Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch — the so-called “Son of Make My Day” bill to help people with these concerns.
The legislation, introduced today, allows people working at a business to use lethal force when confronted with someone illegally inside a business the employee believes may commit a crime inside the business.
Under Colorado’s “Make My Day” law, homeowners or renters can use deadly force under similar circumstances when intruders are in their residences.
In case you were curious, here are the various versions of Gardner’s bill from 2006, 2007 and 2008 that never made it into law.
What do you think?
