The Redskins Rule and Obama’s support for the Pittsburgh Steelers

President Barack Obama has officially endorsed the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl.
To back up his choice, here’s what the president said, according to Politico.com: “Other than the Bears, the Steelers are close to my heart.”
Naturally, Political Notebook figured there has to be more to this choice than simple Midwest pride or a vendetta against Arizona, the home of his 2008 opponent, Republican Sen. John McCain.
In case you hadn’t heard, one of the best predictors of which candidate will win in a presidential election is how the Washington Redskins fare in their final home game before the election. If the Redskins win, the party holding the White House will win. If they lose, the party out of power will win the election.
Well, back in week No. 9 of the NFL schedule, the Pittsburg Steelers toppled the Washington Redskins 23-6.
Curious.

Is there any doubt left that Steeler Nation has completed its’ takeover of NFL fandom, and the Terrible Towel will soon fly unfettered over the land of the free and the home of the brave?
And then comes Monday. The only party still going on will be in a little town in Western Pa. called Punxsutawney.
Go Black and Gold..
