First day of 7th grade

By Robin Dearing

For a kid who was almost never out of bed before 10 am all summer long, Margaret sure was all smiles this morning.

(It's Bill's first day of school today, too. He doesn't look as excited.)

Look at how cute she is in those purple skinny pants. Of course she had her outfit planned out ahead of time. And she had her lunch made last night, too. In case we forgot, she made a note "to whom ever it may concern":

She was so calm about the first day of seventh grade that she wouldn't even let us get out of the car when we dropped her off. She jumped out with her giant backpack full of supplies and loped off with her friend leaving Bill and I behind. It was so traumatic for us, we had to go home and take a nap. Parenting is so exhausing.

If I remember right, 7th grade was a blast!
