Introducing the Cardboard Boxes

By Robin Dearing

That's my girl playing drums with her band, the Cardboard Boxes, at the Fruita Fall Festival talent show Sunday. Margaret might just be the cutest drummer ever.

I couldn't be more proud of this kid. When it comes to music she takes in all in. She wants to learn it all.

I'm so happy she is in a band with kids who share her love and enthusiasm for music. Check them out:

That's Raleigh, singer and guitar player, being held up by Mar and Bonnie, the bass player. I love that these three tween and young teenagers have so much fun together and really enjoy what they do. They don't get anxious when they play, they are there to have a good time.

They support each other and get along really well.

You might recognize them as the band formerly known as Possum Pants, but that's when they took lessons from other teacher (and Mar was playing guitar and singing). They decided on the name the Cardboard Boxes about two minutes before they took the stage yesterday. The name made them all laugh so they went with it. It doesn't get much better than that.
