Kids Bowl Free

By Richie Ann Ashcraft

We went bowling last night at Freeway Bowl in honor of my niece's 8th birthday.

Jonas and Marek had never been bowling before but they both enjoyed it a lot. Bowling is perfect for their ages as it doesn't require an immense amount of concentration — you throw a couple of balls, go eat, go drink, run around — and after awhile you throw a couple of balls again. It's nice too in that kids running around acting like kids is completely acceptable.

Since we enjoyed ourselves so much, I'm hoping to bowl at least a few more times this summer.

Here's the really great part though — kids bowl free!

Yup, fer reals.

Soren brought home a flyer as school was ending that said kids could bowl two games for free, every single day of the entire summer. I thought "okay, what's the catch?"

But, I checked it out anyway at www.kidsbowlfree.com.  As hard as I looked, I couldn't find a catch. Registered children can bowl at any time, two games a day, for free at Freeway Bowl.

Families still need to purchase shoe rental and adults have to pay. But, for a family with three children it saves us $18 and makes bowling more than a once in a while a possibility. There's also a coupon for discounted games for grown-ups through the site.

It's a pretty good deal, if you ask me, and I can't wait to enjoy a few summer nights at the bowling alley. Maybe we'll see you there!

I love that program. Plus it’s super smart for the bowling alleys in that it develops paying bowlers in the future. Also, bowling is fun. Bow-lin’, I love bow-lin’.
