Miscellaneous Christmas Stuff

By Lynn Lickers
Twas the day before New Year's and all through the house . . . It seems like there should be a poem for New Year's. Something more understandable than Auld Lang Syne. In the meantime, a quick re-cap of Christmas around the Lickers compound. It started with this: birdinthehouse.jpg Yes, that's a bird inside my house. I left the front door open for a few moments and in it flew. I'll tell you what, a bird can poop A LOT in just a few minutes. We spent the night before Christmas Eve at my parents, eating pizza, drinking beer and opening presents. My dad swiped this hat from my niece. He looks pretty stylin'! dadshat.jpg Christmas Eve was spent at my sister Deanne's house where she served up a mean prime rib! My nephew Sam greeted us at the door and asked if he could take my coat. "Wow Sam, very nice. But I'm not wearing a coat." "Then give me this," he said, tugging on my sweater. "But then I'll be nekkid. Are you the official coat-taker?" "No," he replied. "I'm security." Securitysam.jpg Hey, when your mom is serving a hundred dollars worth of prime rib, you can't be too careful. My handsome son Alex and his beautiful cousin Erica had a good time being teenagers and rolling their pretty eyes at everything. alexerica.jpg Christmas morning brought gifts galore, including this new jacket for the snow dude. Alsjacket.jpg All in all, it's been a great week. Happy New Year everyone!
