One step back, one step forward
By Richie Ann Ashcraft
It's the calm before the holiday storm I suppose. I know I'll be busy in a couple of weeks baking cookies, shopping, wrapping, decorating. I can't help but feel like procrastinating all that for awhile.

We drove to Cortez to see my mom last weekend. Then we returned to basically laze around our house a few days. Soren was sick and pretty much made our laziness miserable whenever he was awake. Our DVD player broke adding to our lazy angst. We couldn't even rescue ourselves from his Soren-is-two-and-sick-and-shoot-us-now-e-ness with a little Bob the Builder relief.
He also took a giant leap backward and started peeing the bed every night at least two or three times. Maybe it was because he was sick, or maybe because he's just plain naughty, but after a week of waking up every few hours, stripping sheets and changing PJs, I decided it was time to put him back in a nighttime diaper. He was devastated of course but what can I do? Last night was the first in a least five that he slept straight through the night. Although it worked I still feel bad about knocking his confidence down a notch.
The highlight to his Thanksgiving weekend was the arrival of Santa's letter all the way from North Pole, Alaska. He ran through the house yelling "I MADE THE NICE LIST! WOOT! I MADE THE NICE LIST!" Then he immediately went back to declaring how mean his mom is and he how he doesn't love his dad. I was less than happy to see him declared "nice" when he indeed has not been nice at all. BACKFIRE!
Jonas on the other hand is a complete delight. He's at that oh-so-cute-he-could-never-do-anything-wrong stage. He's awesome! When I left this morning he was playing ballerinas with his cousin Azure twirling around the living room in his sweet little feet pajamas. Oh if they'd only stay this cute forever. At this point with Soren acting like demon spawn, it's hard not spoil my little Joji pie.
