Product review: Tung-Toos

By Robin Dearing

Do you guys like reading product reviews? I like writing them. It's fun to try out new products and see how they work. But I'll be honest, I wasn't super excited when I was contacted and asked to reivew Tung-Toos. The product didn't make any sense to me and I didn't think Margaret would like them either.

Boy, was I wrong! I guess that's why they test out kids products on kids and not middle-aged moms.

Tung-Toos  are temporary tattoos ... for your tongue. And they last about 30 seconds. My mom brain said, "What's the point?"

I showed them to Margaret and had her try one. They are really easy and there's no mess or clean up.

You pick a Tung-Too from the package. Then you put it on your tongue for a few seconds.

They have different flavors that leave a taste in your mouth ... or at least that's what Margaret says. I haven't tried them yet.

Then you take the paper off your tongue and PRESTO:

You have a slightly blurry tattoo on your tongue.

Once you close your mouth and swallow a couple of times, it goes away.

Here's a Halloween-themed spider Tung-Too:

I sent a few packets of them to school in Mar's lunch one day to try with her middle-school friends. She said they all thought it was fun and they liked the taste.

All in all, they are innocuous, quick fun for kids and don't require any special tools or clean up.  I initially thought the idea was strange, but Margaret and her friends give Tung-Toos many thumbs up.
