Shoes and Sex: What more could you want?
By Richie Ann Ashcraft
I hate to post on top of our shoe contest. It's really a good one don'tcha think? If you have come to Haute Mamas looking for the chance to win free shoes, just click here or scroll down a little bit to find the contest.
Now, let's talk about what others are saying about their sex lives.
I check in on Dooce every few days just to make sure she hasn't converted the whole state of Utah into nonreligious democrats and to see how her family is tolerating the completely inappropriate things she says about them on her blog. She claims to have some blogging "lines" but to be honest with you I clearly cannot see what they are. She's just an honest and candid voice which is what I love about her.
On her sidebar I discovered her new site she seems to be co-writing with the other "big girls" in blogging like Finslippy and Mighty Girl, two of Robin's particular favorites. This new site, Momversation, is just video of the bloggers talking about personal and intimate topics. I watched several, (No, Daniel, our IT guy, please don't come chide me about watching video, I'm NETWORKING!) but found this one about sex after baby the most interesting.
When Dooce says it took seven months before she had sex again I nearly fell out of my chair and choked on my breakfast burrito. SEVEN MONTHS! Are you frickin' kiddin' me?
Sure, there are lots of issues I had concerning sex after baby. I wasn't particularly happy about my fatness, my soft belly, my ginormous breastfeeding and leaking boobs, or the fact that while I was pregnant my hubby informed me that Elvis never wanted to have sex with Priscilla after she had Lisa Marie. He said he could never have sex with a woman who had had a baby. Uh-Huh. So I was worried that maybe my hubby wouldn't be really interested.
But, one thing was for sure, after six weeks I was gonna give it try again, in the dark.
Oh and congratulations to Dooce on her new pregnancy! I'm so glad she finally got her groove back!
