So long, Todd
By Lynn Lickers
Today The Daily Sentinel is saying goodbye to a great guy. Todd Powell, who currently holds the title of Web Editor, one of many he has held here, is leaving us for greener pastures. Well, flatter terrain I think anyway.
I don’t know all of Todd’s history at The Daily Sentinel, but I do know that he took on a huge challenge when he drew the short straw to become Web Editor of GJSentinel.com. Todd, along with lots of other people, took our Web site from pretty good to really great (in my opinion anyway). The only problem is that in our bi-weekly meetings, he now talks in alphabet soup along with Chris Froese and just about everybody else in the room except me.
But the thing I admire most about Todd is how he is one of the most dedicated dads I know. Although he wasn’t a frequent commenter on HAUTE MAMAS, (but he’s a faithful reader!) generally his comments were about how raising his children is absolutely the most important task he has. And it comes before anything else.
Every time I read something Todd wrote or talked to Todd about his kids you could sense his fierce dedication to them. His kids and his wife are very blessed to have him and no doubt they feel the same way about him.
HAUTE MAMAS is all about being a mom. But none of us would be moms without the dads. So three cheers for Todd and the example he sets as a dad! And three more cheers to all the dads out there who are dedicated to their kids, and their kids’ moms.
Best of luck and good fortune to the Powells in their move.
