Stepping up to the plate — finally!

By Richie Ann Ashcraft

Marek got to step up to the T-Ball plate this week — finally.

To his brothers: "You're going to have to sit there for a long time and clap."

He couldn't be more excited to finally get to inflict some benchwarmer punishment on his brothers. After sitting for 2 years on the bench, it's finally his turn and he is so very excited.

T-Ball is simply for the enjoyment of parents who like to watch their children do cute things while wearing cute uniforms.

And, the more your kid messes up the cuter it is. Yesterday, Marek smacked the ball and ran full speed to second base to the delight of the crowd.

The kids all run for the ball, that is if they aren't looking toward the outfield, like Marek was. He was looking at the birds.

But, the point is, he loves it. It makes him feel grown-up and part of the cool kids. And, T-Ball makes his momma smile.

Play ball! Or stare at birds, whatever.

AW.  Look at him with his giant batting helmet on!  Too cute.

Look at his little big-boy self! Love his bent, baseball-cap ear! Go Marek ... steal second base!
