The Undefeatable Beavers

By Richie Ann Ashcraft

Last night was Soren's final Little League game for the fall season.

I hate to admit it, but I've turned into one of those parents who is living vicariously through her children. I was just as excited as anyone for this game, just ask my coworkers who were forced to hear me talk about it yesterday.

It was a big deal though. The Beavers were 17 and 0.

Our whole family, and all the families of the other players, came out to support the team. They had worked hard, beginning practice 3 weeks before the season started, to prepare for this game.

Last night, they shut it out, 22 — 2 and became the "Undefeatable Beavers."

Or, as the other teams called them, the "Overachiever Beavers."

I'm pretty proud of this group of 6-year-olds. This time, I think they deserve their trophies, not just for playing, but playing their best. That's something any parent can be proud of.

Congrats to Soren and his team. That’s quite a feat!
