The difference a year can make

By Richie Ann Ashcraft
I was just taking a walk down memory iPhoto lane and am amazed at what a difference a year has made. Before kids the new year would roll over seemingly without much progress most of the time. Adult milestones certainly come slower. But looking back on 2008, I see profound changes in the boys. It feels good to have come so far and yet it makes me a little sad. I don't need to say much about this except wow, he certainly isn't a baby anymore. He never gets the hick-ups, the mohawk is gone, and now he tickles me, using the same tickatickaticka noise. And Soren, well, no diapers and a vocabulary that now includes words like "automatic" and "poisonous." He can recite entire books by himself. He's got his ABCs and 123s down. And, he can't wait to go to school. That's a big year! I wonder how many new wrinkles I have?
