SADDLE SEMINAR THIS WEEK

By Bob Silbernagel

Harry Knipe with HK Boots and Saddle in Grand Junction, sent the following now about this week's saddle seminar at Mesa County Fairgrounds:

Just a quick note to remind you of the Colorado Saddle Maker's Association Spring Seminar this weekend (Apr 12 - 15) at the Mesa County Fairgrounds. Highlights include Thursday's "The Art of Making Cinches and Girths with Natural Fibers: For your Equine's Sake". This is an educational program presented by famed public educator/cinch maker Darin Alexander from Gentry,AR. On Friday Apr 13 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. the public is invited to watch leather carving demonstrations. It will be an opportunity to watch and learn about leather carving and tooling. Finally, of particular interest to the equine community, on Saturday, Apr 14th from 10:00 - 5:00 there is a saddle fitting clinic open to the public. This is an excellent opportunity to observe and or participate in a free professional saddle fitting ($125 value). The important points to consider when fitting a saddle to a particular horse will be covered in these fittings. There are a still couple of slots open for individuals to bring their horse for a fitting. To schedule one of the last appointments, call Harry Knipe, 245-3068.
