Let's Get Dirty | All Blogs

Wanna get dirty with us?

By Carol Clark

No, we are not kinky here at the Sentinel. We are just a bunch of garden enthusiasts excited to share our favorite hobby with you - and get a little attention.

Dirty bloggers, from left to right, Becky Giles, Sue Buskist, Geri Anderson, Melinda Mawdsley, Penny Stine and Carol Clark. Missing are Sandra Rogers, Rita Watson and Laurena Davis.

Out of all the possible names, “Let’s Get Dirty” was created by Penny Stine and approved by the marketing gurus at GJEP (Grand Junction Economic Partnership, not that they know anything about gardening).

Other names were considered, but mine were all rejected - Mainly because I came in too late with suggestions because, you know….. there is never enough Thyme. My suggestions were “The Garden of Weeden’” because after all, we all want an Eden but end up doing a lot of weeden’ and “Garden Thyme,” while the thyme thing may be a little over done.

Here are some of the other suggestions made:

  • I can dig it
  • I'll plant seeds of truth
  • Okra is more than OK
  • They call me Mater Man
  • Roots & Shoots
  • Dirtrakers
  • Bloomers (I think this should have been late bloomers)
  • Good Earth
  • Earthlings

Sow your seeds of wisdom and let us know what you think we should have named this blog and check back daily for something new.
