Big Week For Live Music

By David Goe

It may only be Monday but it's never to early to plan for the weekend! It's a big week for local music with shows all across the valley. With that in mind here is what you should put on your calendar this week.

At the Cavalcade you've got Mike Clark and the Haunted Windchimes tonight and guitarist Matt Griffith tomorrow (Feb 5). For Griffith this show is a bit of a homecoming. He was raised in Western Colorado and has spent the last couple years playing all across the United States.

Things really get interesting this Friday as local indie bands Dreamboat and Bronco Country play the Mesa Theater. The bands will be joined by the Summer Soundtrack and newcomers Cattail Pony. Presale tickets for this 18 and up show are $5 and $7 the night of.

Finally, on Saturday Fix Your Face Radio once again brings another regional DJ to EDM at CMU Nite. This time it is Echo Dafunk, a turntablist from Aspen. His style is a funky mix of jazzy glitch hop and house beats sure to keep you dancing and boppin all evening. Local favorite DJs Chamber Bot and DJ Strangefellow open the night.
