Did Someone Call AAA? A$AP, A-Trak, araabMUZIK on Letterman

By David Goe

What do you think all those middle America tourists who waited for hours to get tickets for The Late Show with David Letterman were thinking when this happened? Somone, presumable the stage manager Biff, wheels out a large gold throne with plush red velvet coushining to center stage. A young man walks out wearing a dark peacoat, a backwards white hat, shorts, gold teeth, and french braids sits down and stares out toward the crowd like they are his royal subjects. Behind him stand three very distinct DJs waiting patiently for their command. Silence.

The young man happens to be A$AP Rocky, the hottest young rapper in the game. His royal entourage? Mega producer A-Trak, human beat machine araabMUZIK, and DJ Clark Kent. I got the chance to see both A$AP and A-Trak live last year and I've been a huge fan of both since. Too see them together is just nuts. Here they are performing "Long Live A$AP" and his new collaboration with Skrillex "Wild For The Night." The second track is remixed live on TV by A-Trak and araabMUZIK. How gutsy is that? That's why I love these guys. They are totally fearless.
