Get To Know: Toro Y Moi

By David Goe

The only thing more awesome than the name Chazwick Bundick is the music that Chazwick Bundick makes. More commonly known as Toro Y Moi, Bundick has been producing some of the best chill wave electronic music around. With a new album "Anything In Return" out January 22 it's time to get familarized with Toro Y Moi.

Last year's "Underneath The Pine" dominated my playlist, especially the song "New Beat." Try and wrap your head around this. The song is a cross between dreamy garage rock and funk disco. It's abstract, yet totally pop. It's a groove that will get stuck in your head and get you dancing at stop lights, discos, dentist chairs, wherever. "Still Sound" is the same way. It's a groove you'll ride till you die.

Bundick's new single, "So Many Details," takes a PBR&B (new slang for R&B music for hipster white kids) turn. Check it out here.

Toro Y Moi tours the area this February with dates in Denver and Salt Lake
