Lowlands Live at Naggy’s

By David Goe

Hey mark your calendars for Friday night (Feb 1) as local band Lowlands will play at Naggy McGee's. Self described as "an Americana band from Grand Junction, Colorado with a rock and roll gut and a honky tonk heart," Lowlands is one of the best in the valley when it comes to live music. I've seen the band play several times and so far they've never let me down. Jeremy Rizer's voice is aged and a little gritty, much like a fine scotch, and Willie Deford's technical skill on guitar and fiddle is exceptional.

The band plays original music with a few covers scattered in by the likes of Neil Young and Tom Waits. Check out this 6 song demo recorded on November 12, 2011 at the Shedd Studio in Grand Junction, Colorado, and most importantly, check them out Friday night. It's good beer drinking music.
