Molly Hatchet’s Website Is Unintentionally Awesome

If you want to waste a couple of minutes at work today then visit mollyhatchet.com. The band's website is unconventional and violates all the rules for good web design, yet it totally rules.

Never mind the fact that Molly Hatchet has roots in southern rock, the whole site is designed like a European doom metal band. Flickering torch gifs, cracking thunder and lightning bolt flashes, randomly placed links, and a 13 minute song medley player featuring the band's greatest tunes like "Flirtin' With Disaster" and "Whiskey Man." Click on any of the links and your are transported into a Dungeons and Dragons style castle with equally bad flash and sound effects.

The whole website is so poorly designed with cheap web tricks from the mid 1990s that you can't not look at it. Literally, they don't make websites like this anymore.  

Tomorrow night Molly Hatchet plays Grand Junction and the Mesa Theater is giving away three pairs of tickets to the show. All you have to do is retweet one of their posts to enter
