The King and The Man Who Fell To Earth

By David Goe

Today is Elvis Presley and David Bowie's birthday! While everyone is buzzing about the new Bowie single "Where Are We Now?" check out this fun fact. Bowie wrote "Golden Years" with the intention of giving it to the King. Elvis refused the song so Bowie ended up recording it. "Golden Years" turned out to be one of Bowie's biggest hits while Elvis died two years later. He would have turned 78 years old today.
