Not exactly flush with success
Seems that San Fran, known for its eclectic tastes, has developed an aversion to odors generated with the aid of its environmental consciousness. Low-flow toilets appear to lack the ooomph to push things along through the sewer system. And now the people who pulled the punch from the flush are unhappy that bleach might have to be employed to clean up their mess.
Strangely, SF seems still to be intent on sending its effluent out into its famous bay. Kind of puts a different spin on McCovey's Cove, but maybe that's a long way from the entry point. Either way, the people who put baseballs on the mantel after they were blown out the park by Barry Bonds might think again about putting their trophies under glass.
Of course, San Francisco is perfectly capable of resolving its problems. It could install better toilets or it couid divert the effluent south instead of west,
LA can use all the water it can get and would probably foot the canal bill once they're told it's organic. Which it undubitably is.
