Polar bears starting to shiver

and beginning to party like it's 1979. Wasn't the rapid melt of sea ice the big indicator of global warming? As the story says, "sea ice responds much faster to changes in temperature or precipitation and is therefore a useful barometer of changing conditions." Unless it's, uh, inconvenient.
