Thanksgiving Runs
By Lynn Lickers
The title is not meant to be a commentary on what may or may not happen with the digestive track after indulging in a feast. And sweet potatoes, and gravy, and sausage stuffing, and rolls, and . . .

Bangs Canyon Trail Run - 30K, 60K (formerly FA 50K)
Bangs Staging Area (up Little Park road)
Info: This is an old school, self supported, no frills race. Start the New Year off right with a long run. Racers must be able to carry a cell phone, map (single sheet of paper), and at least 40 oz of fluids. There will not be any course markers or aid stations. The course consists of a single 30k loop. The first loop will be clockwise followed by a counter clockwise loop for the 60k. You will have access to your car at the 30k mark. This is a very challenging trail run on 100% double track trails. Each lap consists of over 3000 feet of climbing. Very fast runners should plan on 2.5 or more hours to finish the 30k. Expect more time if trails are muddy or covered in deep snow. The cutoff for starting the second loop of the 60k is 12:30 PM. Bring a camping chair, sleeping bag, and celebratory beverage for the finish. More info: bangscanyon@yahoo.com
