Full Moon Rising
At last I got out for a bike ride during a full moon. I hit up some of the trails on the mesa behind our house with a couple of friends, KSlizz and iROnMan. Did a little bit of riding as the sun went down - not as spectacular as some sunsets can be in the Grand Valley - just a mellow kind of goodness.

We headed to the high point of the mesa and perched up on some rocks to wait for the moon. Me and iROnMan by KSlizz:

We timed it perfectly. Just as we summited the rocky outcrop the first sliver of the Cold Moon (as it is named in December) appeared above the Bookcliffs. It's ascent was rapid and before long it was a glowing golden orb hanging above the Grand Valley:

We hung out for a while, had some cheese and crackers and wine. Apparently the full moon makes people get a little crazy. Guess I'm no exception:

Seriously, we were extremely well behaved. I was just overjoyed to finally get out for a ride under a full moon. Even if it was December and cold. I think that may have been my last ride of the year but it sure was a fun one.
