Udall, Tipton, Walker and the Rapture

By Charles Ashby

Should we read something into the fact that U.S. Sen. Mark Udall, U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton and Colorado Treasurer Walker Stapleton are coming to Grand Junction on the day of the predicted Rapture?

Hopefully not.

Actually, Udall and Tipton are in town to attend a ceremony to honor the 100th anniversary of Colorado National Monument on Saturday.

Later that same day, Tipton and Walker will address the Mesa County Republican Party at its annual Lincoln Day Dinner and Silent Auction. The 6 p.m. event is to be held at the Bookcliff County Club, 2730 G Road.

Local state legislators, Sen. Steve King and Reps. Laura Bradford, Ray Scott and Don Coram, also will attend to provide a briefing on the recently ended 2011 legislative session.
