A place to see the truth

By Debra Dobbins

The cartoonist chose to use the British spelling of this word. The American spelling is “theater,” except, of course, when it’s the Avalon Theatre or the Robinson Theatre here in Grand Junction.

“The word theatre comes from the Greeks. It means the seeing place. It is the place people come to see the truth about life and the social situation,” American actress Stella Adler (1901-1992) is quoted as saying.
