100 pairs of high heels stolen from Latimer House

Someone out there really likes high heels.

Problem is, that person also is a thief.

Someone last month stole 100 pairs of high-heeled shoes from Latimer House, along with donated Christmas gifts and decorations. The items were stolen from a storage area located in a transitional housing development used for domestic violence victims.

Latimer House is a program operated by the nonprofit Hilltop Community Resources that provides emergency shelter for women and children affected by domestic violence. The heels are used in the program’s annual fundraiser Men in Heels Race. Many of the heels were unique designs in men’s sizes.

Latimer House officials say they reported the theft to the Grand Junction Police Department on April 16. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 242-6707.
