2 arrested in F Road stabbing

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two men in connection with the stabbing death of a man who was found Thursday in a trailer park at 3195 F Road.
Brothers Jose Juan Ortiz, 30, and Julio Sesar Ortiz, 29, both of Clifton, were arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and are being held in the Mesa County Jail without bond.
The arrest affidavits for both men are sealed.
The stabbing victim was Abel Roper, 31, of Fruita, who was dead when deputies arrived Thursday morning, responding to a report about a suspicious vehicle at 3195 F Road. Roper was found
next to his 2004 Nissan Titan pickup.
