$200K bond for men involved in Denver standoff

DENVER — A judge has set bond at $200,000 apiece for two men accused of holding a hostage during a six-hour armed standoff at a RadioShack store in Denver.

Denver County Court Judge John Marcucci set the bond today for 19-year-old Taveuan Williams and 23-year-old Michael Annan. The men were informed they were being investigated for attempted first-degree murder of a police officer, kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Investigators say the standoff began as an attempted robbery and ended peacefully Friday afternoon when the suspects released 28-year-old hostage Chris Nimerfroh and surrendered.

Police Chief Robert White says one or both suspects fired a weapon during the standoff but no one was injured.
