65 pounds of pot in motorhome near Green River

GREEN RIVER, Utah — The Utah Highway Patrol has arrested a New York man they say was carrying about 65 pounds of marijuana inside his motorhome in eastern Utah.

A statement from the UHP on Friday says troopers pulled over the driver of a motorhome on Wednesday for traffic and tinted window violations.

Troopers say they became suspicious of the driver, 57-year-old Warren DeBiew of New York.

The highway patrol says a police dog detected drugs in the motorhome and a trooper then found about 65 pounds of marijuana.

Authorities say they suspect DeBiew was transporting the drugs from the East Coast to California.

DeBiew was arrested and booked into the Emery County Jail.

Jail officials say DeBiew was released that same day after posting bond. It’s unknown if he has an attorney.
