8 Paonia wrestlers in semifinals, Eagles lead team race

Advancing to the 2013 Colorado State Wrestling Championships semifinals for Paonia High School are Josh Altman, Jesse Reed, Bo Pipher, Ty Coats, William Austin, Tyler Kendall, Joel Simianer and Tony Darling.

Those losing their quarterfinal matched were Zach Milner, Jorge Quinonez, Gunner Chesnik, Morgan Reider and Dylan Stroud.

Paonia leads the 2A classification team race with 99.5 points. Baca County trails next with 57.

The semifinals begin this evening at 7:15 p.m. For those who were defeated in the quartefinals, they now move to the consolation bracket with the opportunity to finish as high as third place. The tournament continues through Saturday evening in Denver at the Pepsi Center.
