Accident alert canceled

The city of Grand Junction ended Accident Alert status at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The city had established an Accident Alert shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday, meaning motorists involved in traffic accidents that did not involve injuries did not have to call 911 immediately to report crashes. The end of the Accident Alert means drivers should resume contacting law enforcement immediately after a crash to report it and have an officer respond to the crash scene.
