Alcohol possible factor in ‘potholes’ drowning, coroner says
Alcohol was a possible contributing factor in a local man’s drowning Sunday on Glade Park, the Mesa County Coroner’s Office said this afternoon.
Toxicology tests are pending for Vearl W. “Bill” Foster, 46, of Grand Junction, who drowned just after 8 p.m. after jumping into a section of the Little Dolores River known as the “potholes,” the coroner said in a news release.
Foster’s death was ruled accidental.
