Army Corps says it terminated Flaming Gorge study
FORT COLLINS — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says it terminated a review of a Front Range water pipeline project before the man behind it could cancel it himself.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported today that the Corps canceled its review of businessman Aaron Million’s plan to bring water from Wyoming to Colorado.
Million said Friday that he terminated the study so he could take his plan to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which oversees hydropower projects.
But Army Corps official Rena Brand said the Corps ended the review itself on Thursday. Brand said it isn’t known how much Army Corps work was wasted on the proposal before Million decided to take it to another agency.
