Arrest made in Glenwood bank robbery
A Denver man is in jail on suspicion of having robbed a Glenwood Springs bank in April and in connection with two bank robberies in Colorado Springs in June.
An arrest warrant was issued for Mark Douglas Osterloo, 45, Monday in connection with the robbery of US Bank at 802 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs, Glenwood police said in a news release. He is charged through the warrant with aggravated robbery, theft and menacing, all felonies.
He is being held in the Denver County Jail on $20,000 bond pertaining to the warrant and similar charges related to two bank robberies in Colorado Springs on June 4 and 14, Glenwood police say. Prosecutors in the involved jurisdictions will determine where court proceedings will occur and whether to combine cases and prosecution.
Glenwood police said sharing of information between agencies on statewide networks designed to help investigators in different jurisdictions connect criminal patterns was crucial to obtaining the warrant.
“The professionalism and calm response of our local bank employees was key to this successful outcome,” police added in the release.
The robber didn’t use force or openly display a weapon in any of the incidents, police say.
