Artist Tony Ortega cancels visit to GJ because of family emergency

Because of a family emergency, Denver artist Tony Ortega will not visit Grand Junction this weekend.

Ortega called Sunday to say a severe illness in the family required his attention, said Connie Robbins-Brady, program coordinator for the Art Heritage Program in School District 51.

Ortega was scheduled to make several appearances while here, but Robbins-Brady said she’s hoping to reschedule his visit for a later time, possibly next year.
