Arvada PD investigates apparent murder-suicide

DENVER — Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a husband and wife in the Denver suburb of Arvada.

Arvada police spokeswoman Jill McGranahan tells KMGH-TV (http://bit.ly/1aVgiR9 ) a family member concerned about the couple’s welfare went to the home Friday afternoon. The 71-year-old husband and his 65-year-old wife suffered gunshot wounds, and they appeared to have been dead for some time.

Police have not released the couple’s names and would not speculate on who fired the gun.
