At least 7 shooting victims still in critical condition

AURORA — At least seven people are in critical condition at Denver area hospitals following the movie theater shooting in Colorado.

One patient at Children’s Hospital Colorado had been upgraded from critical to serious condition by Saturday.

Two of the critical patients are being taken care of at the Aurora Medical Center. The total of seven patients there are young, ranging in age from 16 to 31, and trauma surgeon Bob Snyder says it’s hard for nurses and doctors to identify with them.

Over 24 hours after the gunman opened fire at the Batman showing, Snyder said the adrenalin of the staff and family members is wearing off. He acknowledged that some patients will have injuries that they’ll have to deal with for the rest of their lives.
