Aurora council delays ambulance review

AURORA — The Aurora City Council has agreed to a request from prosecutors to delay a review of the ambulance response to last July’s movie theater shooting.

According to the Denver Post, the council wants to know why it took emergency medical workers from the Aurora Fire Department 24 minutes to arrive, even though police arrived within three minutes of the first reports of gunfire at the Century Aurora 16 theater.

Badly wounded people were rushed to hospitals in the backs of police cruisers as officers pleaded for help.

James Holmes is being held without bail on multiple counts of murder and attempted murder in the July 20 attack, which killed 12 and injured 70. He is scheduled to enter a plea in March.
